Tom Kendall
Tom is a founder and managing member of Five Mile, a real estate and asset-focused private equity fund that has invested approximately $6 billion.
Prior to founding Five Mile, Tom had the following positions: created a de novo asset management group at Financial Security Assurance; managing director at Santander Investments; managing director at Koch Industries; founding partner and chief investment officer at Wasserstein Perella Capital Management; founded the mortgage department at Greenwich Capital Markets; established and co-managed the contract trading desk at Kidder, Peabody. Tom began his career at Salomon Brothers on the mortgage trading desk, where he played a key role in developing innovative mortgage- and asset-backed products that became industry firsts.
He serves as a board director of the University of Pennsylvania Sprint Football and Wrestling Overseers Board and the USA Wrestling Foundation. He is also a member of the National Association of Homebuilders Housing Roundtable Group and previously served on the board of the Public Securities Association, the precursor to the Bond Market Association.
Tom holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Finance and Accounting.
